Tour of the Hobart Airport Redevelopment

PMI Tasmania Chapter would very much like to thank the Hobart Airport Tasmania for conducting a tour of the airport redevelopment.

On the 22nd May, a group of us had the privilege of touring the construction site. The tour began with a presentation on the size, complexity and duration of the project and a talk about the processes involved in expanding the airport runways. Then we got to view the new design of the airport from the inside out - including the new areas:

• security screening area - which will be 4 times the size of the current security area

• retail space - an expanded lounge area and heaps more retail stores and food options

• computer, power and network rooms - impressive to any tech nerd like me

• boarding gate designs and walks

• expanded entry.

It was a great event that everyone enjoyed and now we can't wait to see the finished product.
