Guest Speaker: Roelof Vermeulen


Roelof Vermeulen is a seasoned IT professional turned keynote speaker and consultant with nearly three decades of experience in technology and project management. Beginning his career in 1996 as a software developer, Roelof honed his skills in FoxPro 2.6, later transitioning to Visual Basic 5, .NET, and JavaScript, with his final line of code written in 2008.


Over the past 17 years, Roelof has excelled as a Senior Project Manager and Programme Manager, specializing in the financial services sector for the last 14 years. He has worked with industry giants such as Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Old Mutual, Barclays, ZTE, and Sun International, representing banks in regulatory engagements with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) and the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).


A pioneer in innovative project management, Roelof created and lectured the Practical RBA (Regulatory Project Management) course at the University of Pretoria, delivered to regulators in 2019/2020. He successfully introduced Extreme Programming (XP) in a regulated environment in 2019 and was among the first to implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) in a highly regulated setting in 2024.


Roelof is the founder of Entinology, a system he has utilized for the past eight years to enhance project delivery. Today, he empowers businesses as a keynote speaker and consultant, specialising in Entrepreneurial Project Management and AI to drive successful project outcomes.
